Center Parcs Woburn Forest
We stayed at Center Parcs Woburn Forest during spring half-term, choosing it because travelling slightly further helped us save significantly by booking during the Welsh school holidays rather than the busier English half-term week.
Woburn Forest is one of the newer Center Parcs villages and feels modern, spacious, and very well maintained throughout. Located in Bedfordshire, it offers the same woodland setting and car-free layout that Center Parcs is known for, but with a slightly more premium and polished feel than some of the older villages.

Accommodation
We stayed in a two-bedroom Executive Lodge, which cost £734 for four nights (Monday to Friday) during our visit.
The lodge offered:
- Two spacious bedrooms
- Modern bathrooms
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Open-plan lounge and dining area
- Private outdoor decking area
Like many Center Parcs lodges, it felt comfortable and well-equipped, but what really stood out during this stay was the amount of wildlife around our lodge.
Throughout the break we regularly saw:
- Muntjac deer
- Pheasants
- Squirrels
Watching the animals wander past the lodge made the woodland setting feel particularly special.
Facilities
Center Parcs Woburn Forest offers a huge range of activities and facilities, making it ideal for active families.
During our stay we enjoyed:
- Electric boating
- Field archery
- Table tennis
- Swimming
- Walking woodland trails
Our favourite activity was field archery, which was something a little different from the usual holiday park activities and great fun for the whole family.
The traffic-free paths also make the village ideal for cycling and scootering, with the boys loving the freedom to explore safely around the resort.
Swimming Pool / Subtropical Swimming Paradise
Like all Center Parcs villages, Woburn’s Subtropical Swimming Paradise is one of the main attractions and a highlight of the resort.
The pool complex includes:
- Multiple flumes/slides
- Wave pool
- Rapids
- Children’s splash/play areas
- Poolside seating and relaxation areas
During this trip we also hired one of the Exclusive Cabanas for three hours to test whether the premium experience was worth the extra cost.
The cabana included:
- Private seating area
- Complimentary drinks
- Towels
- TV
- Food delivery service
It felt like a luxury extra and made for a very relaxing afternoon, although whether it represents good value depends on your budget.

Food and Drink
Woburn Forest has a wide range of restaurants, cafés and takeaway options spread around the village centre.
There is enough choice that most families could comfortably stay on site for their entire break without needing to leave the resort, with everything from quick snacks and coffee shops to sit-down evening meals.
Food quality was generally very good during our stay and the village centre dining area has a modern, premium atmosphere.
Things To Do Nearby
Although most people spend their entire break inside the resort, Woburn Forest is well positioned for several nearby attractions if you fancy exploring outside the village.
One of our favourite nearby trips was visiting Xscape Milton Keynes, a large indoor leisure complex around 20–25 minutes from the resort.
Xscape offers:
- Indoor skydiving at iFLY Indoor Skydiving
- Cinema
- Bowling
- Shops
- Restaurants
- Other indoor adventure activities
Our boys tried indoor skydiving there for the first time and absolutely loved it — it made a brilliant add-on activity after our Center Parcs stay.
Other nearby attractions include:
- Woburn Safari Park
- Woburn Abbey
- Shopping and entertainment in Milton Keynes
That said, many guests never leave the resort because there is already so much to do on site.

Our Thoughts
Woburn Forest felt slightly more modern and premium than Sherwood Forest during our visit, with a very polished feel across the accommodation, village centre, and facilities.
The wildlife around the lodge was one of the standout memories from this break and really added to the woodland atmosphere.
The swimming pool was excellent as expected, and the cabana experience added a luxury touch for anyone looking to make their break feel extra special.
Overall, Woburn Forest is one of the best Center Parcs villages we have visited and offers an excellent mix of luxury, family fun, and outdoor activities.
