We stayed at Cofton Holidays during the Jubilee celebrations and were immediately impressed by the quality of the site and facilities. Located near Dawlish Warren in South Devon, Cofton is a five-star family-run holiday park that feels more premium than many traditional campsites or holiday parks.
Set in beautiful countryside but still close to the coast, Cofton offers a mix of camping, touring, caravans, lodges, cottages and luxury accommodation, making it suitable for a wide range of holiday styles.

We stayed on this visit in our campervan with awning, making use of the touring facilities, but Cofton offers far more than just camping pitches.

The hire accommodation looked particularly impressive during our visit, especially some of the lodges, which appeared very modern and well presented.
This makes Cofton ideal whether you are visiting with your own caravan/motorhome or looking for a more traditional lodge or caravan holiday.

Cofton Holidays is packed with facilities and activities, giving it more of a resort feel than many campsites.

There always seemed to be plenty going on around the site, and during our Jubilee visit there was a lively atmosphere with celebrations and activities happening throughout the park.
Food and Drink
One thing that really stood out during our stay was the quality of the food outlets.
We were pleasantly surprised by how good the on-site food was, with options including:
- Restaurant and bar
- Takeaway/chip shop
- Café/snack outlets
The overall food offering felt better quality than many standard holiday parks we have visited.
Things To Do Nearby
One of the highlights of staying at Cofton is its location close to Dawlish Warren.
During our stay we completed the woodland walk from the park through the forest to Dawlish Warren.
The walk is:
- peaceful and scenic
- quite hilly in places
- especially challenging on the return journey
But it is a lovely route and leads directly into Dawlish Warren, where the atmosphere changes completely into a classic British seaside resort feel with amusement arcades, food stalls, beach shops and traditional holiday atmosphere.
Nearby attractions also include:
- Dawlish seafront
- Exeter
- Devon beaches and coastline
- Local countryside walks

Cofton Holidays is located near Dawlish in South Devon.
By Car
It is easily reached via the A379 and is well located for exploring South Devon.
By Train

Our Thoughts
Cofton Holidays felt like one of the most polished and premium campsite/holiday park hybrids we have visited.
The facilities were excellent, the food quality was better than expected, and the whole park had a very well-maintained, family-friendly feel.
Its location is also a huge plus, giving you the option of relaxing in the countryside or walking into the lively seaside atmosphere of Dawlish Warren.
Whether you are staying in a campervan, caravan, lodge or cottage, Cofton offers a very strong all-round Devon holiday experience.
