Nodes Point Holiday Park

We stayed at Parkdean Nodes Point on the Isle of Wight and it’s one of the best located holiday parks we have visited. The park is right next to the beach and within walking distance of St Helens village. We stayed in a lodge with a sea view and used the park as a base to explore the island including the steam railway, beaches and seaside towns.

Accommodation

We stayed in a lodge with a sea view, which was one of the highlights of our stay. Being able to look out towards the Solent really added something to the holiday and helped make Nodes Point feel quite different from some of the other Parkdean resorts we’ve visited.
The park offers both lodges and caravans, including accessible accommodation. One thing worth bearing in mind when choosing where to stay is that Nodes Point is a very hilly park, so the location of your accommodation could make quite a difference if anyone in your party has limited mobility.

Food And Drink

We really enjoyed eating in the restaurant, and they passed our test of being able to cook a good steak! There were also some good offers available during our stay.
There wasn’t a traditional fish and chip shop when we visited, although takeaway food could be ordered from the bar.
We also had breakfast in the restaurant several times, with the boys particularly enjoying the American breakfasts.

Facilities

Nodes Point has an indoor swimming pool, which Elaine and the boys used during our stay and enjoyed. There was also a children’s playground and sports court, along with the main entertainment complex.
We didn’t actually film a full tour of the facilities on this visit – something we realised afterwards! – so our video concentrates more on the accommodation, location and exploring the Isle of Wight.

Things To Do Nearby

There is plenty to do on the Isle of Wight including the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Ryde, Shanklin, Sandown and the Needles. St Helens is a short walk from the park and has a nice village green and pub. The beach next to the park is also great for walks and views across the Solent.

Getting there and Map

It was about a 30-minute drive from Fishbourne, where our ferry docked, although we encountered some diversions. There are buses to Ryde and Sandown right outside the site, which is really useful if you are in a motorhome or just fancy a pint with your lunch.

Our Thoughts

Nodes Point was a lovely holiday park and one we’d happily return to. The location was probably its biggest strength – being able to walk down to the beach or into St Helens village made it feel quite different from some of the more isolated holiday parks we’ve stayed at.

Our lodge made the stay particularly special. The sea view was probably the best view we’ve ever had from holiday park accommodation – and one we’re going to struggle to beat. Looking out across the Solent from the lodge was a real highlight of the holiday.

There’s also something about visiting the Isle of Wight that makes a break here feel like a proper holiday. Having to catch the ferry adds to the sense that you’re actually going away somewhere, even though you’re still holidaying in the UK. The crossing became part of the experience rather than simply part of the journey.

One very useful tip if you’re considering Nodes Point is to check the ferry prices available through Parkdean when you book your holiday. We found the ferry considerably cheaper when booked through Parkdean’s link than booking the crossing separately, so it’s well worth comparing before arranging your ferry independently.

The park itself is very hilly, which is something we’d bear in mind if anyone in your party has limited mobility, but there is parking near the main facilities and buses outside the park make exploring the island easier without always using the car.

Overall, Nodes Point gave us that combination we really like: a good holiday park, a beautiful location and plenty to explore beyond the park itself. Add in that incredible view from our lodge and it’s easily one of our more memorable Parkdean stays.

We would definitely return.
